If you bought the item with a gift card and have the receipt, will they give you cash back or give you another gift card?

If you do not have a reciept, will they give you cash back or a gift card?

I bought an item with a gift card and I want to get cash back, not store credit. I'm trying to decide if I should take the receipt with me or not.

If I'm not mistaken, the return policies are usually on the back of the receipt. From my experience with almost any store, they just credit the money back to your gift card. Any store is going to try to avoid giving you cash back if they can. They generally do the store credit/gift card thing, unless you paid cash, then they are most likely required to give you back your money.
